The Lily Lodge, set in the
dune forest at Second Beach, Port St Johns, is an idyllic venue for enjoying
the Transkei Wild Coast. From our restaurant, you may
sight schools of dolphins surfing and gliding away the late afternoon.
We serve you the fruits of the ocean complemented by wines from the Cape.
Our chalets nestle amongst the trees where you can listen to exotic birdcalls
and watch the monkeys play. You can laze on the beach, walk for hours
in the forests and along the cliffs, or fish to your heart's content.
In the evening, relax with a cocktail in "Ben's Bar" named in honour of
Ben Dekker, the legendary strandloper and let the lore of Pondoland seep
into your soul.
The Lodge is owned and run by Mbuyie O'Mahony, a Pondo lady married to
an Irish doctor. It is a local venture, fully staffed and operated by
people from Pondoland.
